Let The Truth Finally Be Known

There has been a legend that has surfaced from time to time that the roots of this "clan" can be traced back to none other than "Rock and Roll"! The theory persists, despite those who say it cannot possibly be true about such a stogy old man, that the patriarch of this group actually was a long-haired, deviant lead guitar player in, Yes, a Rock and Roll band. Some have believed over the course of the years there may be some grains of truth to this legend while others thought it was nothing more than the wild rantings of an aging, somewhat overweight (but loosing) rock and roll wannabee that most of those in his inner circle believed to be delusional. Finally, after years of speculation and research, there has surfaced undeniable proof that the legend is indeed true! The "band" started off with the name; "The Daydreamers" but before they could become rich and famous some girl soul band, through the use of high priced industrial espionage stole the name and became famous first. The band finally became known as "The Glass Key" and set out to make a name for themselves. The story is, in the words of the delusional patriarch, goes like this:
"One night in about 1964, I slept outside, as we often did, with a group of my friends. While laying under the stars, we decided it would be cool to start a rock bank, since everyone else was. It was an unlikely dream. Since I had occasionally strummed a ukelele I would become the lead guitar player, Kent Hendricks would play the bass since he had big hands. Gene had never touched a guitar but he said his cousin had one he might be able to get his hands on and Clay, who never went on to be part of the band had an old bass drum in his basement so he could be the drummer. We mowed lawns and did odd jobs until we could afford starter instruments and went to work. The only microphone we had was one that a friend of mine figured out how to build as a science project out of an old light socket. We hooked up with Joe, the organ player which turned out to be a really good move since he had some actual musical training. We stole Kyle, the drummer, from another band and the legend was born. The "Daydreamers" went on to learn their first song, "A Red Rubber Ball" and events were set that would span 6 years and alot of fun.
