Amaya Elizabeth, she's here!!!

Well after 12 hours in labor, and a C-section she is finallyhere. Labor was pretty uneventful, we came into St. Joe's Sunday night to begin the process. Monday morning about 0730 the nurse came in and started the pitosin drip. And oh boy it was a roller coaster from there. It didn't take long for the contractions to hit, fast and furious. Luckily my anesthesiologist was available right away. They placed my epidural, (not the most fun ever, but so worth it) and we were off and running. Hour after hour went by with progress being little to none. And finally at 7:45 pm my doctor (whom I work for) came in with the news. "Her head is fully engaged but she can't come down any more. She just isn't going to fit. Also the more you lay here, the more swollen you get, and I'm concerned about your blood pressure." He gave me the choice to continue to labor and see what happened, or the C-section. After a very short discussion, Ryan and I decided to go ahead with the section. And I kid you not, not 2 minutes after we agreed about 15 people came into my room, all with a different job to do. By 8:00 pm I was prepped and in the O.R. and at 8:29 pm Amaya was born, with Ryan's long feet and hands and my chin. I have to thank Ryan for being my rock, I was absolutely terrified. Scared not of surgery itself, but rather being awake and being cut open. But he was right there with me, keeping my focus on him. They pulled her out, showed her to us and she was hollerin for all she was worth. It was truely the most amazing experience of my life. I am so grateful to have been able to do this.

We just love her, she is to precious. Already with her very own personality and way of doing things. I can't wait for everyone to meet her.

We love and miss all of you. Hope to see you soon!!!!!
