Kendall version

So today the boys missed the bus, mostly because our clock has slowly been getting off and was 5 minutes slow today. So I loaded the kids in the car and off we went to drop the boys off at school. On the way home Kendall asks me...

"Mom, is this the way home?"
"Yes" I reply
"Are we going to crash into the trees, there are tigers in there"
"no, we aren't going to crash, There are tigers in the trees?
"Yes, mean ones"
"Oh''
"We crashed in my dad's car"
"you did."
"into the trees and a person pulled us out and we didn't have to walk home"
"That was nice of them. I'm glad you didn't have to walk home"
''Yeah me too''

It is sure fun to hear their version of what happened and what they remember. Kendall was remembering a few weeks ago when I took all the kids up to the church for Scouts. Zach showed up shortly after to take Dylan and Kendall home so they didn't have to wait around. On his way home he slid off the road into a snow bank. The roads were super slippery and they really weren't going more than 2-3 mph, but were going around a sharp corner and hit a patch of ice. They were there for about 20 min before the guy who lived at the end of the road noticed the car stuck at the corner and came out with his truck and pulled them out. They were all fine and so was the car as they had slid just enough off the road that his front wheels were in the ditch filled with snow and being front wheel drive didn't have any traction to get back out. It reminded her of this experience driving down the tree lined roads on the way to the boys school.
